Asian-Americans an ‘Untapped’ Vote

Recent polls in the U.S. report that Asian-Americans prefer President Obama over candidate Mitt Romney 59 to 13 percent. Though Asian-American voters made up only two percent of the vote in 2008, a large portion of that could go toward either party at this point. In addition to the undecided 28 percent, only 23 and 17 percent of those polled said they had been contacted by the Democratic or Republican parties respectively in the past two years. Among all voters, that number usually falls between 30 and 40 percent.
